Privacy Policy

Effective August 5, 2026

In plain language

  • We collect your name and phone number to create your account, and verify your number with a text code.
  • When you talk to Mabel, your voice is processed live by Google’s Gemini AI to generate her response — we don’t record or store the call audio itself.
  • After each call, we save a short AI-generated summary of the problem and what was done — not a recording or full transcript — so you can look back on past problems. It’s automatically deleted after 30 days unless you pin it to keep it longer, and you can clear it anytime from the app.
  • We keep basic usage info (that a call happened, when, how long) so trial limits and billing work.
  • We never sell your data.
  • If you set this up for a family member, we don’t share the content of their calls with you — that stays private to them.
  • If you subscribe, Stripe handles your payment details — we never see your full card number.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: your name and phone number, collected when you sign up. Your phone number is verified via a text message code sent through Twilio.

Voice data during calls: when you talk to Mabel, your voice audio is sent in real time to Google’s Gemini API to generate her spoken response. We do not record or store your call audio on our own systems. Google’s handling of this data during processing is governed by Google’s own terms and privacy policies.

Call summaries: right after a call ends, Gemini is used once more to turn what was discussed into a short summary — a headline, a 2-3 sentence recap of the problem and what was done, a category, and whether it was resolved. If it wasn’t fully resolved, the summary may also include a short suggested message you can read or send to an outside support line (like a device manufacturer or service provider) to explain what’s wrong. The full conversation is used only to generate this summary and is not itself stored anywhere. The summary is kept for 30 days and then automatically deleted, unless you pin it to keep it longer. You can delete any individual summary, or clear all of them, anytime from the app.

Usage data: that a call happened, when, and how long it lasted, plus your trial and subscription status — needed to enforce free-trial limits and manage billing.

Payment information: if you subscribe or buy a call pack, payment is handled directly by Stripe. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and which plan you chose — never your full card number.

2. How We Use Information

  • To create and verify your account
  • To connect your calls to Mabel and generate her responses
  • To enforce free-trial limits and manage your subscription
  • To send account-related messages (verification codes, receipts, service updates)

We don’t use your information for advertising, and we don’t sell it to anyone.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We share limited information with the providers that make the Service work:

  • Google (Gemini API) — processes your voice audio live to generate Mabel’s responses
  • Twilio — sends the text verification code to confirm your phone number
  • Stripe — processes payments and stores your payment method securely; we never see your full card details
  • Supabase — hosts our account database (name, phone number, verification and subscription status)

4. Data Retention

We do not retain call recordings or full transcripts. Call summaries (see “Call summaries” above) are kept for 30 days by default and then automatically deleted, unless you’ve pinned one to keep it longer — you can delete any summary, or all of them, at any time. Account and usage information is kept for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for billing and legal records.

5. Family & Caregiver Accounts

If you set up Mabel for a family member, the content of their calls with Mabel — including their saved call summaries — is not shared with you or visible to you — that stays private to the person using the Service. As the account holder, you can see account-level information like usage count for billing purposes.

6. Children’s Privacy

Ask Mabel is not directed at children. Account holders must be 18 or older.

7. Your Choices

You can delete an individual call summary, or clear all of them, anytime from within the app. You can also request deletion of your entire account and its data at any time by contacting us — this removes your name, phone number, usage history, and any remaining call summaries.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the updated version here with a new effective date.
