Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account or using Ask Mabel (“Mabel,” “the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. Ask Mabel is operated by TrueNorth Direct (“we,” “us”). If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

2. What Mabel Does

Mabel is an AI voice assistant that helps with everyday technology problems — phones, tablets, computers, TVs and streaming devices, WiFi and routers, smart home devices, printers, cameras and photos, texting and messaging apps, email, navigating or troubleshooting apps and online accounts, and recognizing likely scam or phishing attempts.

Mabel does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice, and will not offer any if asked — she’ll suggest you speak with the right professional instead. Mabel will never help you bypass a legitimate security or account-recovery step; she’ll walk you through the real, legitimate process only.

3. Accounts

You must be 18 or older to create an account. Accounts are verified by text message to the phone number that will use the Service. If you’re setting up an account for a family member, you’re the account holder responsible for these Terms and for payment, even though your family member is the one talking to Mabel.

4. Free Trial

New accounts get 3 free calls with no payment method required. The trial expires 30 days after your phone number is verified, or after your 3rd call, whichever comes first. The trial is tied to your verified phone number to prevent repeat trials on the same number.

5. Plans & Payment

• Plus — $9.99/month or $89/year, unlimited calls for one person, cancel anytime
• Family — $14.99/month or $129/year, unlimited calls and includes a second person

Plans renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel anytime; your plan stays active through the end of the period you’ve already paid for. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number. If we raise prices in the future, subscribers already on a plan at the time of the increase keep their existing price.

6. AI Disclosure

Mabel is an artificial intelligence, not a human being. She discloses this plainly at the start of a conversation, and any time you ask.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Seek medical, legal, or financial advice as a substitute for a licensed professional
• Attempt to bypass legitimate account security, verification, or recovery processes
• Harass, abuse, or attempt to harm Mabel, our systems, or other people
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

8. Disclaimers

Mabel provides guidance on a best-effort basis and may occasionally be wrong. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Mabel is not a substitute for professional advice in any area she doesn’t cover, including the excluded categories above.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TrueNorth Direct is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

10. Third-Party Services

Mabel is built on Google’s Gemini AI to power conversations, Twilio for phone verification, and Stripe for payments. Each of these providers has its own terms and privacy practices, which apply to their part of the Service.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate an account for violating these Terms, including attempted abuse of the free trial. You can stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll post the updated version here with a new effective date. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
